Unbelievably……or perhaps not so unbelievably, there are still people out there who think that Covid was a bioweapon that was intentionally unleashed on the world population and many are pointing the finger of blame at China for unleashing it.

I met up (virtually) with one of these conspiracy theorists online, who was using the theory to justify NOT getting vaccinated. I tried to be non judgemental and factual in my reply. Please tell me how I did:

(Name) Interesting viewpoint. I think I saw, though, that it’s (her opinion) based on an article from Northwell Health, (she had cited Northwell…

An End of Life Caregiver authored THIS thread on Twitter. I’ll break it down for you. It’s a commonly told story about another gullible person who believed what she found on the internet about magnets and other alternative “cures” for her Cancer, and followed THAT advice instead of allowing REAL doctors to help her.

Her husband BEGGED her to see a doctor, and she wouldn’t.

Now he’s a widower and a single parent.

She knew about the Cancer early on and it could have been cured by Western medicine and she could have had many more happy years with her…

I lost a dear aunt to Covid, because a house cleaner was an ASYMPTOMATIC CARRIER.

I touched on the topic of choice in my previous blog post, and I’ll touch on it in this one, too, because a lot of people are CHOOSING to not get vaccinated, even though their doctors tell them that they have no underlying conditions that would make that dangerous.

Choosing to NOT get the vaccine is CHOOSING all the consequences that come of that choice- just like the consequence…

I wish I had a dime for every time I’ve heard bad behavior blamed on booze.

I’ve got news for you:

The booze didn’t do it.

If you were drunk when you groped a girl at the amusement park, like THIS GUY, or when you raped a young woman, like Kavanaugh did,

or wrapped your car around a tree or committed drunken manslaughter with your vehicle then it’s not the booze that’s the problem.

You see, a bottle of booze can’t drive a car or rape a woman and no one held a gun to your head to make you drink.

More to the point:

The post above refers to the Native American children who were once sentenced to death by the “good Christian school system”.

A very wise Native American author and activist named LaNada Warjack argues RIGHTLY that the bodies of these children haven’t really been found, but only recovered.

The facts have long been accessible to anyone that cared to learn “unwhitewashed” history, as well as to those who LIVED IT and passed that knowledge down to their children.

We children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors can empathize. The Irish can empathize. Any people ever oppressed can empathize.

We all knew where…

A lot of people say that. That doesn’t make it true.

I was just listening to some child rearing anecdotes on youtube. Most of the parents these days seem to be a lot less afraid to tell the brutal truth about raising kids than their parents were.

  • We’re not afraid to say that it’s exhausting for the body and the mind.
  • We’re not afraid to say that waking up to feed a baby every two hours turns our brains into mush and makes us short tempered.
  • We’re not afraid to say that we’d kill for 5 or 10 minutes in the shower alone, when our children are toddlers.

I’m really not…

Do you know what is the most virulent and deadly disease on the planet?

No, it’s not Covid or Cancer. It’s not HIV related. It’s not the flu or the Plague. It’s not even war or war related. (And perhaps war doesn’t count although it should, because it seems to be the result of a combination of greed and narcissism which both speak to a lack of intelligence and creativity in those who lead their countries into war).

The greatest bane of our existence is actually an ailment called “stupidity” and sometimes it’s called “willful ignorance”. HERE is a link…

I’m often advised to focus on what I’m grateful for.

That little pearl of wisdom comes at me most often, when I feel the need to whine or complain for a few minutes.

I’m going to circle back to the perception of certain issues as positive or negative shortly, but first I’m going to talk about the seemingly wondrous nature of this tip that we should focus only on good things.

This tip sounds wonderful, on the face of it, and may work for some people, in some situations.

On the other hand it can reflect the arrogance of the…

A lot of my best blog fodder comes from Facebook. Some of it (as in this case) comes from discussions on Nextdoor.com. Someone in the neighborhood shot a sheep of their neighbor’s flock. This almost sounds like the beginning of a bible story, but the discussion took the direction of parents being responsible for how their adult children turn out, and whether or not spanking should play a role in child rearing.

One woman had this to say:

If I every (sic) caused harm to any animal who was not dying and total distress or attacking me. My mother would…

TRIGGER WARNING: If you’re a pet rabbit person, this post may upset you as the views expressed here are mostly from people who raise rabbits for food.

How do you get around people telling you that certain animals are too cute to eat? Let’s make a compilation for our members to use when conversations get heated.

This was a question that I found today on a rabbits group page on Facebook.

There were a lot of good answers that followed on the thread, and none of them were what I would have answered. Of course I don’t put a lot of stock in “cuteness” as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and Man has been eating meat for a long time. In fact, it’s worth…
