A Greater Hope

’Tis the season for giving.

Well, maybe. My Dad came from the “Show me state” so I’ll believe it when I see it.

I’m not talking about just giving tangible gifts to family and friends, I’m talking about giving time and thought to how we go about living our daily lives, so as to perpetuate right relationships with the people around us, and with the EARTH.

If you’re a little unclear on what I mean by this, I made it a bit more clear, today, at www.campgran-cali.org, on the Safe Space page. Some other folks who can be heard making it clear can be found HERE. They’re talking a bit more about efforts to return some land to the Native Americans, what that means, and what it would look like.

Considering the tone of my previous three essays, I just thought it was about time for something more “hopeful”, especially as this IS supposed to be the time of snowy goodness on top of a mug of hot sweet cocoa, or mulled cider with your presents under a tree or Hannuka bush.

I’d take it as a great favor, though, if you would consider buying a potted plant to stand in for that once living tree, and then plant it, when you’re done using it for a Hannukah/Christmas bush.

Happy Holidays to you, no matter what you’re celebrating, and if you hold to one of those religions that doesn’t celebrate, please simply accept my generic well wishes.
