America Through the Looking Glass

I’ve talked a lot about California pre- and post liberation, like in one of my latest posts, here on Medium:

I’ve tried for several years to introduce my fellow Californians and Americans to the idea, slowly and sometimes even gently, by laying before them, all the wonderful things that would come with being an independent nation.

I always figured that there were others who could explain more coherently than I ever could, what might happen to the rest of the US, after California secedes.

But I’m going to give it a go, and I’m researching as I go, because unlike SOME people I could mention, I know that I don’t know everything there is to know about everything.

When I need answers about medicine, I turn to doctors. When I need answers about my water pipes, I call a plumber, and I never get my doctor confused with my plumber.

So now, when I want to know, what will happen to America, after California becomes autonomous, (and it will) I turn to Google, and to people who are familiar with similar historical events. Often, I ask one of my two friends, Matt Own and Hannah Miyamoto. They’re Uber History Buffs and have a good grasp of what the implications are for America, of the successful secession of California.

After all, this type of thing has happened before AND it’s happened PEACEFULLY for TWENTY TWO COUNTRIES since 1831, AND THEY’RE STILL GOING STRONG.
