One fine leader of an organization (Cotati Organized Against Racism) that I founded yonks ago (Really only a few years ago) announced on Nextdoor, today:

……..We hope to open a Safe Parking lot for large vehicles at 845 Gravenstein Hwy. N. These R.V.s and Trailers are currently used as shelter and housing for some of Sebastopol’s homeless people. — Adrienne Lauby

That was just the very tail end of her post. Someone else replied that it just looked like another way to “exploit” poor people.

When you combine this particular Zoom conference, though with what Sonoma County has begun to do, on a much grander scale, to house our homeless population, it all becomes clear that we have begun on a non- exploitive path of truly improving life for everyone.

No one solution is going to be perfect at this point, but we have to start SOMEWHERE. Once we’ve started, we have to keep working at issues from different angles until we’ve beaten the symptoms of poverty….

TOGETHER. …….AS. A. TEAM.

Of course everyone is going to come at solving the problem from a different angle, because everyone has their own perceptions of the problem, and their own agenda. My agenda is to shine a light on some of the failings of our capitalistic system,…… of which this is one-

some people are inevitably left impoverished.
