Dear Straight People, You’ve Been Duped

I’ve mentioned before that I find a lot of my best blog fodder on FB.

Well, you straight people have really handed me one on a silver platter, this time! Where to start……..

First off, let’s get one thing clear: I’m straight.

I would defend to the death your right to be straight also, up to the point of your imposing straight people’s values on others. I would do the same for gay people.

Let’s also talk about these arbitrary labels of “gay” and “straight” because they’re MEANINGLESS.

You heard that right. I said “MEANINGLESS”.

Human beings are the only animal in the animal kingdom that are arrogant and ridiculous enough to put stock in color, race, religion, or the idea of heterosexuality and monogamy. “Why do we do it,” you may ask “if it doesn’t provide important parameters and distinctions”?

I’m glad you asked that.

When you’re making love to your husband or wife of the opposite sex, are you thinking to yourself “I’m a straight person loving another straight person”? I seriously doubt that you are. You’re more likely to have lost the capacity for rational thought in the act of this intimate sharing to the point that the two of you are almost one person.
