Misguided Patriotism……..

I saw a post today about how a study of our true history shouldn’t always impart a warm, fuzzy feeling of pride in our country and patriotism. Someone answered back, that they were proud of our ancestors who BUILT “forged” this country.

Of course I couldn’t leave that alone, but I have learned to be somewhat diplomatic in how I disabuse people of their John Henry and Davie Crocket type mythologies:
