Religion Or Empathy?
Here are the two million dollar questions that everyone is asking:
- If you’re being a good person because of an offer of a Heavenly reward and or the threat of eternal “damnation”, are you really a good person?
2. Are we born with empathy or do compassion and empathy come only from a study of the tenets of a sacred text?
Since the first question seems to have a pretty clear and obvious answer, let’s look at the second one first. There have actually been studies done that prove that children are actually born with the capacity to feel empathy:

Those proofs alone, disprove the theory that children who grow up in a theistic can’t become empathetic and compassionate human beings. Since we’ve debunked that theory, we have essentially proved that it’s opposite is true and that:
Theism is not necessary to the development of empathy and compassion.
