Should Be vs. As Is

We see it all the time without even thinking about the implications. There is always someone around saying something like:

  • If only (s)he looked like this……
  • If only (s)he acted this way….
  • If only (s)he talked like this or thought like that……

I’m going to digress for a moment, to wonder: What does governor Glenn Youngkin think to achieve by outing kids to their parents? This is a very short- sighted move. If their parents TRULY love them, then nothing will happen other than that their parents will be alienated and never vote for Youngkin again.

If their parents abandon their LGBTQAI kids or try to force or manipulate them into be other than they are, then we know that they were parents in name only. If that happens then Youngkin’s constituents- and indeed all tax payers in his community- are stuck paying the tab for the raising of these students who will suddenly need food, clothes and shelter, in order to be able to continue their educations.

When Youngkin’s community, inevitably FAILS to provide for these students, due to lack of funding, (or apathy) then those students will become vectors of disease…… They’ll begin to sicken and die of exposure or to fill the prisons. Young people in prisons will be made to work, just as so many other “criminals” are made to work for pennies.

Parents, …….OF ALL PEOPLE, should be the ones to provide a safe haven for their children, just AS…
