The Point of Reparations

Some wonder at the point of reparations to people that were wronged long ago. Not everyone knows or remembers that Germany made reparations to the Holocaust survivors so that they could……. you know………survive!

After the Holocaust, many of the survivors were left with NOTHING and no where to go.

Not everyone sees the reason for reparations or the reparations themselves in the same light. We may not see the reason or even the improvements they bring, right away. That doesn’t mean that they’re not an important part of bringing about a more equal and just future.

There’s no denying that bad things happened in the past, and that a lot of Black and Native Amer. ppl want reparations for those bad things that happened in the PAST. Some say that it’s pointless or that we’re not responsible for what our ancestors did to Black people or Native Americans ……….The catch is……….

WE ARE PERPETUATING THE ATROCITIES:

Current day police brutality and abuse of authority; The new fad centered on reviving Black slavery; The discrimination based on natural hair; The disproportional incarceration of Black children and adults vs. White people for the same crimes; School to Prison Pipeline; UNDER REPORTED rapes and disappearances of Native American women; Excessive and violently served (and often fatal) no- knock warrants that damage property even at wrong homes.
