The Power of One
One person can actually do a lot for the world. Each of us has the power to make a difference even if it’s only in our own community.
The thing is that we rarely do anything on our own, even when we think that we’re alone in our endeavors.
You could be doing anything on your computer and think that you’re alone in your work or play, but someone built that computer, and someone else created the programming that allows you to get your work done and surf the net.
Someone else ordered the computer so that you could find it in the store or online store, where you decided to buy it, and someone else packaged and delivered it to you or sold it to you at the store.
So say I’m writing a book (actually I AM, and it’s a series in which the titles all start with “Becoming Cleo…at…HOW’S THAT FOR A SHAMELESSS PLUG?) At this very moment, I have a friend that is integrating a new picture into that book for me, formatting it, and uploading it to Kindle Publishing where he will then add a cover for me so that I can get a proof to read.
My Mom has always been my editor and a wonderful advisor as to how children think, when I’ve forgotten and my husband helps me to price my books appropriately on Amazon.
Also, all but one of my illustrations have been done by children.
So my books aren’t all done completely by me alone, I simply do the writing and claim most of the credit for the finished product.
